When and where can I pick up my cake?
Cake orders may be picked up from my home in Beaverton. A pick up time will be set during the consultation and can be changed the week of your event. Delivery may be accommodated based upon my availability for an additional fee. Please have a space ready on your passenger floorboard to place your cake.
How does the booking process work?
All order inquiries can be sent via the "ORDER" tab. I will follow up with you within 48 hours. We will set up a consultation via your preferred way of communication and talk through the details of your order. I will send a quote to you after our consultation summarizing our discussion along with a final price. If all the details look good, a 50% non-refundable deposit will be due in order to hold your event date in my calendar. The remaining balance will be due upon pick up. No changes can be made to an order within 7 days of event.
How far in advance should I order my cake?
I recommend 6-8 weeks advance booking for a celebration cake as my calendar fills quickly. As a home bakery under Oregon's Cottage Food Law, my weekly volume is limited and advance notice is required. I do not book cakes more than 6 months in advance.
What types of cake designs do you offer?
We specialize in "bespoke" buttercream cakes ~ that is, a custom designed cake based on your desired theme, flavors, and other aspects. I'll work with you on options and alternatives that will capture the vision you have for your special occasion. Please refer to my Instagram page for a better idea of what my cake style is.
Do you accommodate food allergies?
Though we cannot guarantee products that are completely free of allergens. I do offer some gluten and dairy free options, however, my kitchen does contain items with gluten, dairy, peanuts, soy, tree nuts, and other possible cross contaminants. Please inform me of any allergy restrictions upon ordering.
Do you make wedding cakes?
For Cakes and Giggles currently does not offer formal wedding cake packages and tastings. I'm happy to consult with you about smaller order options for weddings up to 200 guests.
What is included in my cake order?
Your cake order includes a brief design consultation via your preferred means of communication. I am happy to coordinate custom decorations, toppers, etc. to make your cake everything you envision. Every cake is displayed on sturdy white cake drum and boxed for pick-up in a premium quality bakery box. Cupcakes are boxed by the dozen in a premium quality cupcake box.
What payment methods do you accept?
A 50% (of order total) non-refundable deposit is due at the time the order is made to hold your event date on my calendar. The remaining balance for your cake will be due upon pick up. I accept cash, check, Venmo or Credit Card (3 % fee).
How do I care for my cake once I've picked it up?
A "cake care" card will be attached to your cake box. Please prepare a spot on your passenger floorboard for your cake prior to pick-up. Your cake and cupcakes will need to remain refrigerated until 3 hours prior to serving. Leftovers may be wrapped securely in plastic wrap and/or placed in a sealed container and refrigerated for best preservation.
